  • 1. Nothing happens when I connect iKlips to my iOS device.

    iKlips requires our free iOS companion app to work. Please download the app from the Apple App Store:

  • 2. Are instructions included in the iKlips app?

    Simply click the ? in the top right corner. Instructions will then appear. You can also find video tutorials here (URL).

  • 3. What iOS devices are compatible with iKlips?

    As of July 2016 iKlips has been tested and confirmed to work with: iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone SE, iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7 & iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 & iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR; iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad mini, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4, iPad Pro; and iPod touch 5th & 6th generation.

  • 4. Can I access iTunes content with the iKlips app?

    Yes. With iKlips 2.0 you can browse and play audio purchased from the iTunes store, but not DRM-protected content.

  • 5. Can I access files on my iKlips drive without saving them to my iOS device?

    Yes. Tap the iKlips tab or iKlips menu item to display and access all files on your iKlips.

  • 6. Can I format my iKlips without a PC?

    Yes. Tap the Menu icon (Adam logo) and then select Settings. Go to the formatting tools and then select your desired file system. Note: this function will delete all data on your iKlips.

  • 7. Can I share my iKlips device with a friend?

    Yes. Anyone with a supported iOS device can use and browse files on your iKlips. With iKlips APP, encrypted files will need a password to be accessed.

  • 8. Do I need software to browse my iKlips on a computer?

    No. Just plug iKlips into your computer and browse. It’s that simple.

  • 9. What iOS versions support the iKlips app?

    iOS 8 and above.

  • 10. What video formats are supported by iKlips?

    mp4, mov, m4v, mkv, avi, and rm/rmvb, as well as external subtitles in srt (UTF-8) format

  • 11. What music formats are supported by iKlips?

    mp3, wav, acc, aiff, and m4a.

  • 12. What other file formats are supported by iKlips?

    pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, jpg, png, tiff, gif, and bmp.

  • 13. Does iKlips include a warranty?

    A one-year warranty is included, but not for damage caused from misuse.

  • 14. Does iKlips support embedded subtitles in video files?

    iKlips 2.0 supports internal subtitles or external sub titles in srt (UTF-8) format.

  • 15. How do I transfer files from my iKlips device to my iOS device?

    Slide left on the file you wish to copy and or move. Tap the move or copy icon and then select the destination folder. Tap OK to finish. For multiple files, click the Edit icon in the functions bar. Then select files you wish to action and then select your destination. Click OK to complete.

  • 16. How do I backup/copy photos and videos from my Camera Roll?

    Select the iPhone/iPad tab. Find the folder or Camera Roll folder you wish to copy/move. Click the EDIT icon in the function bar. Select the files and then select the destination folder. Click OK to complete. For a full automatic backup, simply click the Menu (Adam logo) and then select album backup. Confirm the action to begin.

  • 17. How do I share files in the iKlips app to other apps?

    To share a file, open it in the iKlips app and then tap the share icon in the top right corner. Then select the app you want to share the file to.

  • 18. How do I create new folders in the iKlips app?

    Click the Edit icon in the bottom tool bar. Then select create new folder. Enter a name for your folder and tap OK to finish.

  • 19. How do I delete a file from my iKlips?

    Slide left on the file. Then click X to delete. For multiple files, click Edit in the functions bar. Select files you wish to delete and then click delete.

  • 20. Does iKlips have password protection?

    Yes. Slide right on the file you wish to protect. Click encrypt. Then enter a password. If you need to protect the iKlips app or iKlips unit, click Menu (Adam Logo). Then select Security to adjust your security options.

  • 21. Can I select more than one file when managing my files?

    Yes. Simply click the Edit icon in functions bar to enable multiple selections.

  • 22. Does iKlips support Bluetooth speaker and in-car Bluetooth connection?

    The iKlips APP supports most Bluetooth speakers and in-car sound systems.

  • 23. Can I charge my iDevice through iKlips’s USB port?

    No. Due to safety reasons, the design does not allow the Lighting port and USB plug to be connected at the same time. Depending on which is connected first, the opposing port will be disabled.

  • 24. Does iKlips come with my language?

    The iKlips app language will default to your iOS device’s system language.

  • 25. Does iKlips work with Lightning extension cables for thick protective cases?

    Yes. There are many lighting extension cables on the market, but Adam elements does not recommend any sort of extension cable that does not have the MFi certification.

  • 26. Does using the back up whole function delete everything from my Camera Roll folder?

    No. The iKlips app only copies these files and then stores them on then iKlips device. It will not remove anything from your Camera Roll folder.
